Welcome to Cary Girls Soccer 2020-21

Welcome to the Cary Girls Soccer 2020-21 Season. Outlined below are important items for you to complete BEFORE you are allowed to train on campus with us this year. 

 

Registration is now open. Use this LINK for a list of all the requirements. Please begin to turn in all of your required paperwork immediately to caryhs-athletics@wcpss.net.

 

We will have an IMPformational team meeting on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11 at 1:00 pm. Join the Google Meet HERE

 

Preseason Schedule

These are not mandatory but are recommended. The following dates and times will be for the Winter Training Sessions.

February  11    Training 3:00-4:30 softball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the softball field.

February  12    Conditioning 3:00-4:30 track. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the stadium entrance.

February  16    Training 3:00-4:30 softball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the softball field.

February  17    Conditioning 3:00-4:30 track. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the stadium entrance.

February  18    Training 3:00-4:30 softball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the softball field.

February  22    Conditioning 3:00-4:30 track. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the stadium entrance.

February  23    Training 3:00-4:30 softball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the softball field.

February  24    Conditioning 3:00-4:30 track. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the stadium entrance.

February  25    Training 3:00-4:30 softball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the softball field.

We are limited to 47 players for these sessions. I will let you know if we need to sign-up. Currently everyone can attend if all requirements above have been met. All sessions will take place on campus. Running shoes and/or indoor soccer shoes are REQUIRED for all sessions. We may go indoors as needed (weather permitting). Please bring your own water (1 gallon) and a small bottle of hand sanitizer (you can keep in your bag for your own personal use) to each session. 

We will not be able to share practice pinnies. As a result, I will need each player to bring a black and white t-shirt to every session that can be used as a pinnie during small sided activities and scrimmages.

Tryout Schedule

All tryout dates and subsequent training sessions are mandatory. 

 

March 1    Training 5:30-7:30 baseball field. Health Screening begins at 5:00 at the baseball field.

March 2    Training 3:00-5:00 baseball field. Health Screening begins at 2:30 at the baseball field.

March 3    Training 5:30-7:30 baseball field. Health Screening begins at 5:00 at the baseball field.

March 4    Training 5:00-6:30 baseball field. Health Screening begins at 4:30 at the baseball field.

March 5    Training 5:00-6:30 Stadium field. Health Screening begins at 4:30 at the baseball field.

 

*** All Preseason and Tryouts dates, times and locations are subject to change due to weather conditions, Covid-19 issues, etc. Be sure to check your email regularly. Please remember to follow the 3 W’s at all times. 



 

Game Schedule

We will not train on Saturday’s, however, we may be required to play rescheduled games on Saturdays due to the condensed nature of the season this year. 

 

Below is a workout schedule you may use as a guide to help get you properly conditioned for preseason workouts and tryouts.

 

Day 1: Run 2 miles (target time 15-20 minutes); 15-20 min. of ball work; 25 push-ups (good form)

4 x 25 sit-ups or crunches

Day 2: 5 x 100-yard shuttles; set-up 2 cones 50 yards apart; sprint up and back= 1 shuttle; 1-minute rest; 15-20 min. of ball work; 25 push-ups (good form) 4 x 25 sit-ups or crunches

Day 3: Run 2 miles (target time 15-20 minutes); 15-20 min. of ball work; 25 push-ups (good form)

4 x 25 sit-ups or crunches

Day 4: 6 x 40-yard shuttles; set-up 2 cones 40 yards apart; sprint up; jog back= 1 shuttle; 1-minute rest; 15-20 min. of ball work; 25 push-ups (good form) 4 x 25 sit-ups or crunches

Day 5: Run 2 miles (target time 15-20 minutes); 15-20 min. of ball work; 25 push-ups (good form)

4 x 25 sit-ups or crunches
